for 2016. you have the jack kemp forum tonight and both marco rubio and paul ryan are speakers. >> right. marco rubio is honored tonight. paul ryan was the honoree last year. yes, andrea. these are two guys without question are going to be in that 2016 presidential race barring some sort of unforeseen circumstance. they're both positioning themselves to lead the party. i'm interested to see what they talk about, because i think both of them -- paul ryan is talking about poverty. marco rubio is talking about education so not two typical what we would traditional republican issues, taxes and those sorts of things. this is an attempt by both men, i think, and a chance for both men to expand on what it means to be a member of the republican party and to try to broaden an appeal we saw in the 2012 election is just not broad enough particularly among hispanics. they are problems with women and young people. rubio is 41 and ryan is 42 years old who are leading a youth movement that the party hopes will change that appeal, correct their demographic problems and it starts even though the election

[video clip] >> americans of struggling to keep middle-class jobs for two reasons. we're not creating enough of these jobs and too many people did not have the skills for the jobs that are being created. a limited government can and help solve these challenges. we must get the national debt under control. tax increases will not solve the $16 trillion debt. only reform of the entitlement programs will help control the debt. we must reform the tax code by getting rid of unjustified loopholes. the goal should be to justify new tax payers, not new taxes. regulations are needed, but they cost money to follow. the more expensive regulation is, the less money a business has to give raises or hire new people. we must not let innovation go to waste. we have the potential for all kinds of middle-class jobs from the fields and

a conservative movement, to get people involved in politics, like marco rubio, who jim helped early on in his primary i just think is going to be a great legacy. from a state point of view, we have lost one of our great champions. but he and debbie, jim and debbie have raised four wonderful children. they got great grandkids, and i know jim is looking forward to staying involved in pushing the conservative cause outside the body. he was an effective voice in the senate, whether you agreed with jim or not. he really did strongly and passionately advocate for his positions and did it very effectively. jim made the republican party, quite frankly, look inward and do some self-evaluation. conservatism is an asset, not a liability, as we try to govern this country in the 21st century. and i look forward to staying in touch with jim and to working with him at the heritage foundation to see what we can do to improve the fate of our country so we will not become greece. no one is more worried about this nation's unsustainable debt situation than senator demint. i've seen him deinvolve over time to so
